Overview
USB Direct Printing requires an iPad with an Apple M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5). iPads with A-series chips, including the standard iPad and iPad mini, can't use USB Direct Printing.
Step 1 — Check Your Model Name
Open the Settings app on your iPad.
Tap General, then About.
Look at the Model Name line.
If the model name includes M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5, or is iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd or 4th generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th or 6th generation) or iPad Air (5th generation), your iPad is compatible. Head to USB Direct Printing - Getting Started.
Not sure? Go to Step 2.
Step 2 — Check Your Model Number
On the same Settings → General → About screen, find Model Number.
You'll first see a code that looks like MXXX2LL/A. Tap it once and it changes to a number that starts with A, like A2588.
Look for that A-number in the table below.

Any iPad not listed above (older iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air or iPad Pro models) is not compatible.
