Curator Print Server for Curator Live

The Curator Print Server connects your Curator Live applications with any supported photo printer — allowing seamless, high-quality printing at events.
This guide covers installation, configuration, and the three available connection methods, Wireless, USB Wired, or Cloud.

✅ Step 1: Install Printer Drivers

Before installing or opening the Curator Print Server:

  1. Install your printer’s official drivers on the computer (Mac or Windows).

    • Visit the printer manufacturer’s website to download the latest version.

    • Example: DNP, Mitsubishi, Citizen, Hiti, Sinfonia, etc.

  2. Connect your printer to the computer via USB.

  3. Print a test page to confirm the printer is working properly.

💡 The Print Server relies on the operating system’s printer list, so your printer must be installed and recognized before continuing.

Step 2: Install the Curator Print Server

  1. Download the installer for your operating system:

  2. Open the file and follow the on-screen installation prompts.

  3. Once installed, launch the Curator Print Server application and then reboot your computer.

*Reboot required for Print Server to work.

Now open the Curator Live app, run your event and print. If for some reason your prints are not printing correctly then proceed to Step 3.

⚙️ Step 3: Configure Printer Settings

Inside the Print Server:

  1. Go to the Settings tab.

  2. From the Printer dropdown, select your connected printer if you didn't already do this during install.

  3. Click the ⚙️ Gear icon to configure supported print sizes. *This ONLY has to be done if for some reason your prints are not coming out correctly.

    • Example: If your printer supports both 4×6 and 6×4 formats, set each one separately. PR print options should be set to Portrait. The rest are landscape.

    • Match portrait (4×6) and landscape (6×4) sizes to the correct printer profiles.

This ensures photos are sent to the right printer orientation and size.

🌐 Step 4: Choose a Connection Method and Print

The Curator Print Server can be connected to your Curator Live iPad or Mac app in three different ways:

1. Local Network Connection (Wi-Fi)

  • Both the iPad (running Curator Live) and the computer (running Print Server) must be on the same private Wi-Fi network.

  • Your device will Auto detect the print server and the print server will indicate to you that it has found event running on the device.

  • You’ll see a message indicating the device is connected

  • Ensure no network firewalls block communication between devices.

  • Print a photo, any size.

2. USB Direct Connection (Recommended)

  • Connect your iOS device (iPad/iPhone) directly to the computer via a USB cable.

  • The Print Server and Curator Live app will automatically detect each other.

  • This is the most reliable and fastest connection method — ideal for event use.

  • No network setup is required.

3. Cloud Connection

  • Log into the Curator Print Server using your Curator Live account.

  • Select the event you want to print from.

  • Prints will occur after files upload from the iOS device to your account and sync back down to the Print Server.

  • Useful for remote printing or when devices aren’t on the same network.

  • Works seamlessly with AI photos and other post-processed images.

⚠️ Cloud prints may not be instantaneous. Photos are printed once the upload completes.

🧾 Notes & Tips

  • The Print Server automatically detects all active Curator Live applications running on the same wireless network.

  • If prints aren’t showing up, ensure:

    • Your device is available on the Settings page in the print server.

    • Both devices are on the same network (if not using USB).

    • Your firewall isn’t blocking local traffic.

  • AI photos and processed images print automatically when available or can be manually printed from the Print Server interface.
