Curator offers multiple methods of running a simple slideshow. Learn which one will work best for your needs.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Curator offers three different methods for displaying slideshows at your events. Whether you're looking for a simple web-based option or a more robust offline solution, we've got you covered. Below is a breakdown of each available method:

Our easiest and most accessible slideshow option is the HTML5 Slideshow, available directly from the event VIEW page on your dashboard. Simple plug your laptop into your TV and run the browser on that display and then press SLIDESHOW from the VIEW page.

Key Features:

  • Accessible from any modern web browser

  • Auto-updates with new photos and videos during the event

Requirements:

  • Active internet connection

  • Device with a browser (e.g., laptop, Smart TV with browser)

2. Apple TV Application

For a more polished, full-screen display experience, use our dedicated Curator Slideshow App for Apple TV. you can download it HERE

Key Features:

  • Available on the Apple TV App Store

  • Multiple options including portrait and layout settings

  • Sleek and professional viewing format

Requirements:

  • Apple TV device (4th generation or newer)

  • Internet connection

For environments without internet access, Curator offers an offline solution using Live Connect Technology. This method allows photos from the capture device to be sent to a 2nd iOS device (iPhone or iPad) running the curator app all while being on the same wireless private network.

How It Works:

  • Run your event on an iPhone or iPad using the Curator app

  • Enable/start Live Connect on that device (the capture device)

  • Connect a second iOS device (iPhone or iPad) to the same local Wi-Fi network (must be your own network with no firewalls)

  • On the 2nd device do NOT start live connect, only connect via the Live Connect page to the capture device in the devices page in live connect. (top of page).

  • Then on the 2nd device, run the event but this time press slideshow. Choose your settings and thats it.

Key Features:

  • Works without an internet connection

  • Supports single or quad image/video slideshows

  • Great for remote or bandwidth-limited venues

Requirements:

  • Two iOS devices with Curator installed

  • Local wireless network with no firewalls

  • TV with a iOS device connected via a HDMI dongle

πŸ“ Notes and Recommendations

  • The HTML5 and Apple TV methods require internet to function correctly.

  • The Live Connect method is ideal for offline setups, but initial configuration may require technical setup.

  • Make sure to test all setups prior to your event to ensure compatibility and performance.
