How to Free Up Space on Your iOS Device for the Curator Live App

Memory and Device storage management .

Updated this week

To ensure the Curator Live app runs smoothly during your events, your iOS device needs enough available storage. Even if your iPhone or iPad shows free space, it doesn’t necessarily mean the app has access to use it all.

🚨 Why Available Space Matters

Apple allocates a limited portion of available storage to each application. For example, if your device shows 10GB free and you have 10 apps installed, each app may only get about 1GB of usable space—even if the app needs more.

We recommend having at least 5 gigs of free device storage before starting any event.

📱 How to Check and Clear Device Storage

To free up space on your device:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap iPhone Storage or iPad Storage.

  4. Review the list of apps and how much space each is using.

Helpful tips:

  • Delete unused apps.

  • Clear large attachments in Messages.

  • Remove downloaded videos from apps like Netflix or Prime Video.

  • Clear cache-heavy games like Roblox or Minecraft, which store large amounts of data.

🧼 Tip: Video apps and games are often the largest consumers of storage space. Removing offline content from these can free up gigabytes quickly.

☁️ iCloud Storage vs. Device Storage

iCloud storage does not help with app performance.
The Curator Live app needs physical storage on your device, not cloud storage. Purchasing additional iCloud space won’t allow the app to run better or store more media.

🖥️ Check Device Storage from the Curator Website

You can also monitor how much memory is available to the Curator Live app from your online dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Curator Live account on the website.

  2. Navigate to the Devices page.

  3. You’ll see a list of devices and how much memory is currently allocated to the Curator Live app for each one.

⚠️ Note: This data is only updated when the app is running.
If the last active time on a device looks old, simply download an event and hit Play in the app to update the information.

✅ Summary

  • Keep 5GB of free device storage for each event.

  • Free up space by deleting apps, attachments, videos, and cached game data.

  • Use the Devices page on the Curator website to view allocated storage.

  • iCloud storage will not improve app performance—device storage is what matters.

If you’ve cleared up space and are still having issues, a quick restart of your device can help reset memory allocation.
