APP - Queue Overview & Management

Learn how the Curator Live app queue stores media, manages uploads and deliveries, and helps manage device storage during an event.

ℹ️ This article applies to Curator Live app version 1.1.48 and later. Older app versions may have different queue features and behavior.

Accessing the Queue

The Queue can be accessed from the event dashboard or from the Hidden Menu while an event is running.

From the Event Dashboard

Tap Queue in the bottom navigation to view the Upload Queue and monitor media with pending upload or delivery activity.

From a Running Event

Open the Hidden Menu and tap Queue to access the On Device and Upload Queue views.

To open the Hidden Menu, double-tap the top-right corner of the screen.

Understanding the Queue

When accessed from a running event, the Queue has two views:

On Device

On Device shows media currently stored on the iPad.

This can include:

  • Media that has not finished uploading

  • Media that has finished uploading but is still saved locally

  • AI-generated media available on the device

Media will remain under On Device when Save to Camera Roll is enabled or when it has not yet finished uploading.

If Save to Camera Roll isn't enabled and there are no AI experiences requiring media to remain on the device, media is automatically cleared from the queue once it finishes uploading to free device storage.

ℹ️ Save Images to Queue must be enabled on Page 6 of the Event Form for captured media to be saved to the device queue.

Upload Queue

Upload Queue shows media that is waiting to upload to Curator or be delivered to guests.

A 0 count means there is currently nothing waiting to upload or deliver.

Uploading & Delivery Requirements

For media to upload to Curator or be delivered to guests, the following requirements must be met:

  • A strong internet connection

  • An active event license

  • An authorized device

An authorized device is a device with a license assigned to it.

⚠️ If any of these requirements are not met, media will remain in the Upload Queue until the issue is resolved.

Managing Device Storage

The app automatically clears media from On Device after it finishes uploading when the media does not need to remain stored locally.

If media is still stored under On Device, you can manually remove uploaded media using Free up space.

The Queue screen also shows the device's available Storage.

⚠️ Keep enough free storage available on the device. Low storage can affect app performance and may prevent new media from being saved. We recommend keeping at least 5 GB of free device storage for each event.

Saving Media to Photos

If you want to keep a copy of media on the device, use Save to Photos.

Save to Photos copies the selected media to the device's Photos app / Camera Roll. This copy is stored separately from the Queue and is not automatically removed when the media finishes uploading.

AI-Generated Media

AI-generated images appear under On Device once they are generated and available on the device.

These images are imported back to the device and can remain available for supported actions such as printing or saving to Photos.

Queue Best Practices

The queue works automatically in the background.

We recommend:

  • Start each event with at least 5 GB of available storage.

  • Test uploads before guests arrive.

  • Keep the device connected to a strong, stable internet connection.

  • Make sure the event has an active license and the device is authorized.

  • Monitor the Upload Queue if media is not uploading or being delivered.

  • Use Save to Photos if you need a local copy of important media.

If Media Remains in the Upload Queue

  1. Internet connection

Make sure the device has a strong and stable connection, with at least 20 Mbps upload speed.

  2. Event license

Make sure the event has an active license.

  3. Device authorization

Make sure the device has a license assigned to it.

  4. Available storage

Make sure the device has enough free storage.

If all requirements are met and media is still not uploading or being delivered, contact support via chat.
