How to Connect Your Twilio Account to Curator

How to Connect Your Twilio Account to Curator

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Using your own Twilio account with Curator Live is completely optional—you do not need Twilio for your event or account to function properly. Every Curator account already includes built-in SMS/MMS delivery using our default system.

However, for customers who prefer to send all messages through their personal Twilio account, we offer full integration.

✅ Why Use Your Own Twilio Account?

Some customers prefer:

  • Using their own verified Twilio numbers

  • Full visibility and control over message logs

  • Centralized billing through their Twilio dashboard

If that sounds like you, follow the steps below.

🛠 Step 1: Make Sure You Have an Active Twilio Account

Before connecting:

  • Set up your Twilio account at twilio.com

  • Ensure your account is verified and has at least one approved phone number capable of sending SMS and MMS

🔑 Step 2: Gather Your Twilio Credentials

Log in to your Twilio Dashboard and copy the following:

  • Account SID

  • Auth Token

You’ll find these under the Account Info section of your Twilio console.

🧩 Step 3: Enter Your Twilio Info in Curator

  1. Log into your Curator Live account

  2. Navigate to the Tools page

  3. Find the Twilio Card

  4. Paste your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token into the corresponding fields

  5. Save your settings

📱 Step 4: Assign Your Twilio Number to an Event

When setting up a new event:

  • On Page 1 of the Event Builder, select one of the approved Twilio phone numbers from your account

  • This number will be used to send all SMS and MMS messages related to that event

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Twilio is completely optional – Curator includes a default SMS system for all users. Depending on your account you are allocated a certain number of texts that can be sent and depending on your location, you may have to pay for additional credits. . Fair usage does apply.

  • If you choose to use your own Twilio account:

    • Support is limited – We cannot assist with message delivery issues since we do not have access to your Twilio dashboard

    • You are responsible for message usage and billing via Twilio

If you’re unsure, we recommend using Curator’s built-in SMS system—it’s reliable and supported.
