How to Test an Event in the Curator Live App

Testing an event in the Curator Live app is simple and important to ensure everything is working before your event goes live.

💡 You can test any event before purchasing. Unpaid events will display a DEMO watermark on captured media.

Steps to Test Your Event

  1. Create your event - Create and configure your event on the Curator Live website.

  2. Open the Curator Live app - Sign in to your Curator Live account.

  3. Sync your event - Find your event in the app, then:

    • Download if this is your first time downloading the event.

    • Refresh if the event is already downloaded.

  4. Test your event - Run through the full guest experience to ensure everything works as expected.

Before You Go Live

During your test, verify the following:

☑️ Test every experience

Capture a sample using each enabled experience.

☑️ Overlays & branding

Confirm overlays, layouts, backgrounds, and branding display correctly.

☑️ AI experiences (if used)

Test AI prompts and review the generated results.

☑️ Test sharing

Send a test using each enabled sharing method.

☑️ Test printing

Print a sample and verify the layout and print quality.

☑️ Review final output

Review the final photo, GIF, or video for quality and branding.

💡 Test your event exactly as your guests will experience it, from capture to sharing and printing.

Demo Watermarks

Events that are not purchased, or are outside their scheduled event dates, will produce DEMO watermarks. Unpurchased events also display a tag. This is expected when testing before purchase.

To remove DEMO watermarks from future captures:

  • Purchase the event and ensure it is within its scheduled event dates.

  • Refresh the event in the Curator Live app.

  • Capture new photos after refreshing.

⚠️ DEMO watermarks cannot be removed from photos captured before the event was activated or while the event was inactive.

Best Practices

  • Refresh the event after payment or after making changes to the Event Form.

This downloads the latest event settings and activation status.

  • If DEMO watermarks appear during an active event, stop and verify your event dates, activation, and refresh the event before continuing.

  • Test the complete guest experience before guests arrive.

A quick test can help prevent issues during your live event.

ℹ️ Whether you're on a single event plan or a monthly/yearly subscription, the testing process remains the same.
