Curator Print Server Set-up for PC and Mac (V1 / Legacy)

The Curator Print Server (V1) enables seamless printing from the Curator Live app on your iPad or iPhone to a printer connected to your PC or Mac.

⚠️ A newer version of the Print Server is available for most setups: Printing with Curator Print Server (Mac & Windows)

Still using this version? It's recommended for printers not yet supported by the new Print Server (e.g. Sinfonia).

What You Need

  • A PC or Mac computer (Windows 10 or higher)

  • Curator Live iOS app for iPad or iPhone

  • Curator Wireless Print Server software (V1 / legacy)

Installation Steps

  1. Install Printer Drivers on Your Computer

Ensure that the manufacturer's printer drivers are installed on your PC or Mac. Do not rely solely on plug-and-play drivers, as they may not support all printer functionalities. Find printer drivers here.

  2. Download and Install the Curator Wireless Print Server

Download the appropriate version for your OS:

After downloading, install the software on your computer.

  3. Launch the Curator Wireless Print Server

    Open the application after installation.

  4. Select Your Printer

Within the print server, select your printer from the drop-down menu.

⚠️ Do not use Advanced Printer Settings unless running multiple printers.

  5. Configure Printer Settings

Click the gear icon to set paper size and enable the 2-inch cut for 2x6 strips if needed.

💡 On Mac, you may be prompted for your computer login username and password. For a step-by-step guide, see How to Edit Printer Settings on a Mac.

  6. Ensure Network Connectivity

Connect both your computer (running the print server) and your iPad/iPhone (running the Curator Live app) to the same private Wi-Fi network.

Connecting the Curator Live App to the Print Server

  1. Open the Curator Live App

Launch the app on your iPad or iPhone.

  2. Download and Start Your Event

Log in, download your event, and start it.

  3. Access the Hidden Menu

Double-tap the top right corner of the screen to open the hidden menu, then tap Printers at the bottom.

  4. Set Autoprint

Make sure Autoprint is set to 1 — tap + if it shows 0.

  5. Enable the V1 Print Server

Toggle Enable V1 Curator Print Server (deprecated) to On.

  6. Find Servers

    Tap FIND SERVERS.

  7. Select Your Print Server

Select CuratorPrintServer from the list — Host and Port should auto-populate (host = your computer name, port = 3000).

  8. Test the Connection

Tap TEST PRINT to confirm the connection is working.

Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode allows guests to select and print photos independently from a touchscreen PC or Mac running the print server.

  1. Enable Kiosk Mode

In the Curator Wireless Print Server app, click the Kiosk Mode button at the bottom. Note: At least one image must be taken for Kiosk Mode to function.

  2. Set Print Limit

Set the maximum number of prints per guest.

  3. Exit Kiosk Mode

Press Alt + C on Windows or Option + C on Mac.

Network and Firewall Considerations

  • Disable Firewalls: Turn off firewalls on your computer and network to allow communication between devices.

  • Avoid Guest Networks: Guest networks often restrict device-to-device communication and may block file transfers needed for printing.

  • Use a Private Network: Venue Wi-Fi networks may have restrictions that block proper functionality — use your own private network when possible.

Troubleshooting
