Introduction to Photo Overlays

Photo overlays are a key feature in customizing the look and feel of event photos in Curator Live. They are essential for personalizing photos with branding, designs, or other visual elements that enhance the user experience.

1. Click on the Assets Tab on the Top Menu bar

2. From the Dropdown Menu(a) on the right choose Overlay(b) as the Asset Category

3. Click on Create Overlays to open the Curator Designer

4. Design your Overlay with the Tools on the Left & Hit Save when done

a. Choose a Background

b. Add Txt and/or elements or icons

c. Click Add Cutout from the Size menu and position on the design (a cut out is only the area that will be transparent. That area will allow the photo to be seen once the overlay is applied directly on top of the photo or video.

Without adequate transparency, the photo underneath will not be visible, which is critical for achieving the desired final image.

d. Click Save

There are two methods for applying overlays in Curator Live:1. Event-wide Overlay: Automatically affects all experiences within the event for consistent branding across photos.2. Individual Overlay: Allows for tailored customization for specific experiences, providing greater design flexibility.

Saving and Modifying Photos

Overlays become a permanent part of final photos if raw photos are not saved. To preserve editing flexibility, enable raw photo saving during the event setup. Additionally, if overlays need correction, download photos and edit them using third-party tools. Note that Curator Live does not save raw videos.
