Why Am I Seeing This Message?
All event purchases and subscription plans include 1 device license by default.
A device license can only be assigned to one device at a time. When you sign in to the Curator Live app and download an event, the license is automatically assigned to that device.
If all available device licenses are already assigned, you'll see a License Limit Reached message when attempting to use another device.
ℹ️ To use a different device, unassign the license from the current device first. Additional licenses are required to run multiple devices simultaneously.
Quick Summary
Scenario | What To Do |
Using a different iPad or device | Unassign the license from the current device, then sign in on the new device |
Running multiple capture devices simultaneously | Purchase additional licenses |
Running a separate Sharing Station on a Standard plan | Purchase an additional license |
Option 1: Use a Different Device
Step 1: Go to Your Licenses
From the Curator Live dashboard, go to:
TOOLS → Your Licenses
ℹ️ License icons indicate the current license status:
iPad with a slash (Assigned License) = License is currently assigned to a device
iPad without a slash (Available License) = License is available and not currently assigned
Step 2: Unassign the License
Click the iPad with a slash icon next to the device you want to remove.
⚠️ Unassigning a license removes it from that device and makes it available for another device.
Step 3: Sign In on the New Device
Sign in to Curator Live on the new device and download your event.
The available license will automatically be used.
Option 2: Purchase Additional Licenses
If you need to run multiple capture devices simultaneously, each device requires its own license.
